The design project derives from some local suggestions, in particular from the idea of a pier leant on the rocks. The roof is entirely accessible (also to disabled people) and it becomes the connection element between the rocky cliff and the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse itself represents the Lighthouse Art Hotel’s starting point. The pier is a suggestive place which is a hybrid between a hotel and a museum. The public functions (hall, restaurant/bar, atelier, exhibition) are closer to the Lighthouse, while artists’ private accommodations are located in the final part of the ‘pier’, which ends with a panoramic telescope overlooking the sea.
